Work sentence by sentence

Split a recording into segments, recognize and translate them, loop the hard parts, and save sentences as Clips.

Make a segment

Open a recording in All Audio. A segment is one range of the recording, usually a sentence, with its own text and translation. The recording itself never changes.

  1. Move the playhead to where the sentence starts and click New Segment.
  2. Drag the A and B handles to the start and end, or type exact times. Arrow keys move a handle; hold Shift to move it one second at a time.
  3. Click Recognize to get the original text, then Translate to to translate it.

Changes save automatically, and you can type or correct the text yourself. On the free plan, Recognize works on segments up to 30 seconds long.

Split and merge

  • Split cuts a segment in two. The left part keeps the text; the right part starts empty, so you can recognize or type its text.
  • Merge joins neighboring segments into one range, including any gap between them. Check the combined text and translation before saving.

Auto-segment a whole recording

Auto-segment splits the whole recording into sentences, then recognizes and translates them in the background. You can keep using LingoClipper meanwhile, and Pause or Resume at any time.

  • The free plan includes 3 automatic segmentations. Each run counts when it starts, including Segment again, and is not returned if you cancel. Pro has no limit.
  • Translation needs the main window to be open. If some sentences have no translation, open the window and click Retry Translations.
  • Segment again processes the whole recording again. Your current segments, text, translations and edits stay until the new result succeeds; then they are replaced. The audio is always kept.

Practice

  • Turn on Loop the A–B range to repeat a hard sentence, or loop the whole recording.
  • Slow down or speed up playback from the speed control.
  • Play All plays every recording in a folder; Segments Only skips everything you have not segmented.

Save sentences as Clips

Save as Clip copies a segment into your Library, where it joins your reviews. Save All as Clips saves every segment; each needs original text first.

Saved Clips are independent: deleting the segment or the recording later does not delete them. On the free plan they count toward the 100-Clip limit.
